The purpose of this activity is for the students
to gain cultural knowledge of the holiday The Days of the Dead,
celebrated most of all in Mexico. Through this activity the students
will become familiar with the manner in which this holiday is celebrated.
This activity helps the Spanish students gain knowledge and understanding
of the culture studied. It is not as much an activity to learn grammar,
since the final product only requires a few words in Spanish.
Adapt the activity to your needs and the resources
available. Also, I suggest to start this activity around the middle
of October in order to allow enough time for the students to complete the
final project. The final project could also be a Power Point presentation
or a skit about The Days of the Dead among other ideas.
